DivorceCare & DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K)

DivorceCare is a special 13 week seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. The Cost: $10.00 for the seminar workbook.

DC4K is a special support group to help children ages 5 through 12, recover from the hurt of divorce. DC4K is a program providing children with a safe and neutral place to recognize and learn about their feelings. The cost: $15.00 which includes a workbook and snacks.

Both programs will meet on Sundays from 2-4pm - from February 1st, 2009 through May 3rd, 2009. DivorceCare will meet in the Youth Lounge and DC4K will meet in the PowerHouse room in the worship center building, at 340 N. Irwin St., Hanford. GriefShare

Much healing occurs when people have the opportunity to talk about their grief experiences and hear others who are dealing with similar problems. Our third series of GriefShare, facilitated by Martha Bentley and Dan Piper, will be held in the church office conference room from 3 to 5 pm. on Sunday afternoons -from February 1st, 2009 through May 3rd, 2009 . Each week a video is shown which deals with stages and emotions of grief. Following each week’s video, a discussion time, led by lay facilitators, allows the participants to share their feelings and experiences. They come to understand that they are not alone, that there are others who are going through similar experiences. The support group becomes a “family,” with members ministering to each other, modeling the concept described in 2 Corinthians 1:3-6.

Gastric Bypass and Lap Band Surgery Support Group

This support group is open to anyone who has had, going to have or is thinking about having gastric bypass or lap band surgery. Supportive family and friends are also welcome. Questions - call Sharon at 582-0283. The group meets monthly on the second Monday of the month at 7 pm in the church office conference room. . The group is open to all who are interested.
