Martha Bentley - Coordinator
Mission Statement

The Senior Adult Ministries of the First Presbyterian Church of Hanford seeks to involve members and friends in fellowship and study with the goal of improving everyone's walk with our Lord. Fully aware of the increasing numbers of seniors in the Hanford area, SAM seeks to develop programs, outreach ministries and fellowship opportunities to reach unchurched individuals, as well as nurture and encourage fellow believers in Christ.

Our church is handicapped accessible with hearing assistance devices, wheelchair accessible seating in the sanctuary, and handicapped restrooms.

Our ministry includes:

  • Regular visits to shut-ins, by the Deacons and by the SAM Director.
  • Communion taken to shut-ins on the first Sunday of even months.
  • CDs or video tapes of Sunday morning services, as well as bulletins are delivered to shut-ins by request.
  • Transportation for Sunday services and other events by calling 582-0283.
  • For those who are no longer able to drive, a team of volunteer drivers provides transportation for medical appointments grocery shopping, and other needs. This can be arranged by calling Martha Bentley at 582-9711.
  • Handy Helpers: are available for minor home repairs by calling Martha.
